Terms of use
Draft for launch. Last updated 21 October 2026.
These are the terms Kepuro will launch with. They are being reviewed by a lawyer before the app opens, and the final version will be published here.
1. Who we are and what this covers
These terms apply to the kepuro.co.nz website and the Kepuro app (“Kepuro”), operated by Kepuro Limited, a New Zealand company. By using Kepuro you agree to them. New Zealand law applies.
2. The service is free, and provided as is
Kepuro is free for tradies and customers. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but information from public registers and from members is provided as is. Kepuro is an aid to your own judgement, not a substitute for it, and not legal, financial or safety advice. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, or for the conduct of other members.
3. Verification
“Verified tradie” means we have checked the business on public registers and received an insurance certificate and identity confirmation at the time of verification, and re-check yearly. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, solvency or conduct. Report any problem with a listing and we will look into it.
4. Your account and conduct
- Give true information and keep it current. One account per person or business.
- Log only real, paid jobs. Confirm only jobs that happened. Logging or confirming a job that didn't happen will close your account.
- Site notes must be about the property, not the person, and must be true. Nothing abusive, discriminatory or defamatory.
- Use checks only for genuine work purposes. No scraping, bulk lookups or resale of information.
- Keep your login to yourself and tell us if it's compromised.
5. Customer records
A customer's record shows only what they have chosen to share and only positive, counted facts. Kepuro has no mechanism for negative marks and we will not add one. Members can change what is shared, download their logbook and close their account at any time.
6. Public records
Property, company and business information is obtained from public registers under their terms of use and displayed for the purpose of the check. You must not use it for any purpose that breaches those terms or the Privacy Act 2020.
7. Advertising and offers
Advertising is sold by area and audience under a separate agreement. Member offers are made by the tradie or sponsor who publishes them, who is responsible for honouring them. Kepuro is not a party to any job, quote or payment between members.
8. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can. You may close your account at any time.
9. Liability
To the extent New Zealand law allows, Kepuro Limited's total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.
10. Changes
We will email members about material changes to these terms before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
