Is this legal? Isn't it a blacklist?
No. A blacklist records bad things about people. Kepuro records only good things, and only about people who have chosen to join and share them. People who haven't joined have no record at all. The property and company information comes from public registers and is shown, not stored. We're building Kepuro around the Privacy Act 2020 and will publish the full privacy policy before launch.
What does it cost?
Nothing, for tradies and for customers. Checks are free and unlimited. Kepuro is paid for by businesses that advertise by area. Get-paid tools may be an optional paid extra later; the core service stays free.
Do customers actually join?
They join when there's something in it for them: a home logbook with their certificates in it, faster quotes, no deposit, and member deals. The invitation goes out the day the invoice is paid, while they're pleased. In our testing the logbook is the thing people say yes to.
What if a customer isn't on Kepuro?
That's normal and says nothing bad about them. You still get the public-record checks (owner match, connected businesses) and any site notes other trades have left. Invite them after the job.
Can a customer get a bad mark?
No. There is no way to record anything negative about a customer on Kepuro. If a job goes wrong, nothing is counted. Kepuro counts the good ones; silence is the only other state.
What does a tradie see about me?
Only what you choose to share: name and suburb, your level, how many invoices you've paid and tradies you've satisfied, how fast you pay on average, and the trades you've used (not the business names). Never your phone, email or exact address until you give them to a tradie yourself.
Does Kepuro show who owns my house?
No. It answers one question for a tradie who has entered your address: does the name they were given match the registered owner. The owner's name is never shown, and the lookup isn't stored.
Will Kepuro text me?
Never. Everything is by email, and each kind of email can be turned off.
Are tradies checked too?
Yes. Verified tradies are checked on the NZBN register and, where their trade needs one, the official licence register, and they upload their public liability insurance. Re-checked every year. Customers see the ✓ Verified badge and can report a problem with any listing.
Where does Kepuro work?

Who is behind Kepuro?
Kepuro Limited, a New Zealand company based in Tauranga, started by a tradie who got tired of guessing. More on the About page.
Can I leave?
Any time. Your record is removed and you can download your home logbook first.
Free for every tradie and every customer.
